Following the huge population growth and overexploitation of natural resources during the last 30 years, the world has experienced severe environmental degradation, fortunately, we are witnessing a global trend to take measures against the impact of climate change. Applying this concept especially in cities, we developed what is known sustainable urbanism. Some of the cleanest cities in the world include in their environmental programs strategies for economic growth and job creation. Beyond the beauty of the natural and urban landscapes, culture or even food, there are enough reasons to visit these cities; cleanliness is a bonus that we can not ignore. Each year we take a quality of life surveys that take into account factors such as water availability, waste removal, sewage systems, air pollution and traffic density. Based on this information, we list below the cleanest cities in the world.

    I am curious from where the figure of 75% renewable energy in Calgary was found?

    A quick search (http://www.energy.alberta.ca/Electricity/682.asp) shows Alberta generates ~90% of their energy from coal and gas. I am curious from where Calgary is getting their renewable energy?
