Ways of communication with ghosts - Part 2

The Seance can be considered as the on of the key way, that people often used to communication with ghosts. Under the Spiritualists seance we can understand session, the purpose of which is conjuring ghosts and communicate with them. These sessions usually takes place in a dark room where light create only candles and people hold each other hand. Often times are people using Ouija board, that may be from the wood or the cardboard. On the board are all the letters of the alphabet, basic numbers, yes and no and goodbye. Ouija board is also often critized, for example Dale Kaczmarek noted: "Most often the spirits whom are contacted through the Ouija are those whom reside on "the lower astral plane". These spirits are often very confused and may have died a violent or sudden death; murder, suicide, etc. Therefore, many violent, negative and potentially dangerous conditions are present to those using the board. Often times several spirits will attempt to come through at the same time but the real danger lies when you ask for physical proof of their existence! You might say, "Well, if you're really a spirit, then put out this light or move that object!" What you have just done is simple, you have "opened a doorway" and allowed them to enter into the physical world and future problems can and often do arise.“
Furthermore, during the session may be also used a person who is a medium between the living and the dead. It should be noted that not all media are trusted, respectively right and do not even communicate with ghosts. Many times, they are helping themselves with their own imagination and an individual who is in a sensitive state of mind may not even realize that an individual is a crook, or may not recognize the tricks by which the media is showing its credibility as moving the furniture. Seance should not be seen as an "innocent" game, because there are certain risks. As reported Ján Bienik problems may have mediums:
"The medium falls into a trance, hypnotic sleep, often to a cataleptic state. In these states is maintained by a variable period of time, according to the wishes of the surroundings. Therefore not based on knowledge of physiological and psychological assumptions of medium. (...) Human individuality of medium is frequently raped without his knowledge and often also against his will."
Thus, seance can not be considered as an "innocent" game. Also, if some individuals choose to make this activity, they should not forget that the call of the spirit is necessary to refer, respectively, to thank him for his answers and send him where he came from, because the spirit may stay in the room, respectively remain in the flat or the house. It should be remembered also that the people can through seance communicate not only the good one, but also the bad ghosts who will try to dominate the individual, or prepare him many nasty suprises...
Except the seance there are also other ways, which we can use to get in contact with our deceased, respectively as they can contact us. We can mentioned "normal" call. Such call from "the other side" can last from a few seconds to minutes, often it depends on the recipient, who can be scared and puts the phone off or the recipient do not know that he is talking with somebody dead. Phone calls from dead was the aim of research of Scott Rogo and Raymond Bayless, who in 1979 wrote a book Phone Calls from the Dead, which is the result of their two-year investigation. Authors besides the various cases of calls also divided them into different groups, with three basic types: Simple Calls, during these calls, which are the most common, caller says only a few words and is unresponsive to any questions. Later the line will go dead without any sound. Second are Prolonged Calls, which usually involve a conversation like any other telephone call. The recipient does not realise, that the caller is already dead. And there are also Answer Calls, which are the situations when a living person makes a call to somebody they do not realise is already dead and the caller get an answer.
As an example of such call can be put the experience of Viola Tollen, who has for some time neighbour Ruby Stone, but Ruby, aged 7, died. After some time the telephone in Viola´s house rang and when she took it up she heard childlike voice on the other end of the line. The voice said: "They told me I could not telephone, but I just did, didn´t I?" After Viola wanted to know who the unknown caller is, the voice said "I am Ruby."
It should be noted, however, that not all special calls are from the ghosts. As noted paranormal researcher and author Stephen Wagner on "phone calls affect different phenomenons such as radio waves or waves of the other frequencies that are all around us and are the reasons for failures in the telephone system."
Even exist situations where calls are affected by radio waves, there are still cases when we have call from the dead. Another case bring us Callum E. Cooper in paper PHONE CALLS FROM THE DEAD published in Journal of Research Into the Paranormal (Vol. 44, November 2010).
„(...) Catherine (...) have experienced recorded phonecalls from the dead on her mobile phone voicemail. This has happened to Catherine on several occasions. (...) one of these calls was recorded (...) on 22 October 2006 at 00:42am. When she picked up her voicemail message she could not believe her ears. There was apparently a message from her latemother and also one from her husband´s late father (joint voices):
„Catherine, I´ll always be there. I love you, I´ll be there for you, I love you. It´s your mum, stay happy. Colin, I will always be there for you always. Speak to me. Steven and Cathy, be happy.“
The time between death of the caller and the call itself was 24 years (...) It was also spontaneous and recorded at the time in her mobile phone voicemail. Catherine still has this mobile phone message."
Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP)
In the case of Catherine´s call, when the message from dead is recorded, when can already talk about Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). EVP can be simply described as a strange sounds that are loaded on the different types of sound players. EVP was first discovered by the Swedish artist Friedrich Jürgenson in 1959. Jürgenson was recording bird songs using a tape recorder. At the moment, when he replayed the tapes, he heard some voices in the background, even in that moment there was no one else. On one of the tapes he also heard female voice: "Friedrich, you are being watched. Friedel, my little Friedel, can you hear me? It´s Mummy." Female voice belongs to his dead mother. Over years during which he recorded many voices Friedrich Jürgenson published two books: Voices From the Universe and Radio Contact with the Dead.
Some researchers believe that EVP are messages from other beings, while others think that EVP are only the radio signals. According to Lisa Butler, Co-Director of American Association of EVP (AA - EVP): "Tests, which were transferred repeatedly show, that what we hear, are not radio signals." With EVP are, however, related also some problems. People who purposely making these recordings have often problem with insomnia, nightmares or paranoia. Overall, the EVP is not as unusual as it might seem. Strange sounds or voices have been recorded on various devices such as: dictaphones, camcorders, mp3 recorders or as was already mentioned mobile phones. However, as stated Vladimír Liška:
"Electronic voice phenomenon is still considered to be unexplained paranormal phenomenon, which is associated with the afterlife and experiments of this kind using the most advanced recording technology still continue."
One of the other options through which we can contact the deceased is automatic writing (channeling). Automatic writing can be understand as a way of receiving messages from other beings through written text, or even through images, in a state of a trance when some kind of invisible power takes control over the man and moves with the individual´s hand. Often times may be the handwriting illegible, or in the different capitals. Proponents of this method say that we can connect the higher spiritual realms, angels, ghosts, spirit guides or God. According to Doreen Virtue:
“You can use this technique to communicate with any of your deceased loved ones, even if they died before birth, as infants, or as toddlers. You can even contact those who spoke differenct languages, or who were retarded or mote. And you can even get in touch with your nets who´ve passed on. This is possible because our spirits communicate nonverbally and then „translate“ these messages into our own native language. (...) Automatic writing can also assist you on your spiritual path. For instance, through this method you can have conversations with God, your guardian angels, the ascended masters, and the archangels.“
Of course, also with automatic writing are connected some risks. In this case, an individual can establish a connection with negative energies and beings, evil spirits demons or the devil, who will want individual´s soul. Because of this, it is important to clean the area where you might wanna to try automatic writing. Furthermore, as noted Andrew Fitzherbert "It is unwise to experiment on your own. Get a friend to sit with you, or practice in a spiritual group. Be sure to pray before you start and after you finish.“
Except seance, phone calls, EVP or automatic writing can ghosts communicate with us also through dreams, signs and in recent time discovered also through e-mail. Don´t forget that if you will ever meet anyone of these options, caution is important.
